CooLikeDat Review: Ode To Illmatic | Fashawn

I wasn't gonna do an album review on this but, I actually sent a message to Fash on twitter asking him if it was too late one nite to do it... and then he replied the next morning with....

Last month Fashawn dropped his tribute to one of the greatest hip hop albums if not the greatest of all time, Illmatic by Nas. Pretty much listen to the the first track Genesis in the beginning he pretty much breaks it down before the actual song album begins and explains why he is doing the dedication. He just felt that Nas influenced him so much and paved the way for him and so many other emcees. The whole album he basically recreates the whole album to make it from his point of view but keeps the same 5 star quality to the album. He really did the album justice. A lot of people may say its stealing verses but, he uses the whole album as a foundation and adds the rest of the building by using his own flow on it.

I don't have anything negative to say about this mixtape at all its not like he tried to give them a 2010 influence he kept it real G and did his thing on it. It's not on the same level as the original Illmatic but, it is still dope none the less. Download It
